Rossi (Enel): "Pioneer, the largest Italian second life plant for batteries"

Rome, June 3 (Adnkronos) – "It is the largest Italian second life plant for batteries, we integrate battery parks that come from cars that have finished their first life cycle. And when they have finished this phase they can still offer performance for plants like this that store energy at night. A real reuse for different use cases".

This was stated by Nicola Rossi, Head of Innovation Enel, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Pioneer project created by Aeroporti di Roma and Enel, presented at the Hilton Garden Inn Roma Airport. "These batteries have all lived a different life and when they are declared finished for automotive use, which have a lower cost than buying new ones, then there is a need for an integration system that makes them work in a coordinated manner, these two costs are what make the final result. With the greater use of electric cars, the cost of used batteries will also decrease, so as to balance the integration cost".
